Extensive water damage and wood rot. Here's how it was fixed.

Repairs are More than Meets The Eye
-

This home had serious water damage to the wall & dormer. Here's how we repaired the damage.
A repair that may seem like a mere surface issue to the untrained eye actually may be ongoing damage caused by water, insects or animals that will cost you more money to repair down the road if it's not addressed quickly and completely.
Whether it's a minor inconvenience, an appearance issue or a major structural challenge, rest assured that Palmer Custom Builders can handle the project. Residential repairs are where Gary Palmer began his career, and he and everyone on our team have a solid understanding of what it takes to tackle these challenges correctly. We approach each repair as a puzzle to be solved. We look beyond the surface to discover what caused the problem. We examine how the underlying issue can be corrected. We explore how the corrective measure should be designed in order to avoid future problems and eliminate any further need for repair. Finally, we ask which materials we can use to help minimize maintenance and prevent this from happening again.
Every repair is completed with the same high standards that we bring to all of our work. We consider this essential, since poor repairs often create more problems down the road than they solve. When you want a repair done correctly the first time, trust the team at Palmer Custom Builders.
Your Home Should be Your Refuge
As homeowners are becoming increasingly concerned about the growing number of kick-in burglaries in the Charlotte region, we decided to take action. Our investigation found that burglars have become so brazen that they commonly just go to the front door and kick it in. We felt that with the safety of your family at risk, it is simply unacceptable to have a door that cannot stand up to such a rudimentary attack.
We visited door manufacturers and then called in an expert who taught breaching techniques to the U.S. Special Forces to advise us. He showed us the critical parts that fail when a door is under attack, and emphasized the importance of creating a "complete reinforcement system."
Our next concern was ensuring that we were not trading the aesthetic appeal of an inviting entryway for something that looks like it was designed in the middle ages, so we looked to how we could adapt the reinforcements to keep them out of sight. As a result, we have developed a system that employs better materials paired with strategic reinforcement that is concealed from view to make your door much harder for a burglar to breach. We call it the Palmer Entry Reinforcement System (PERS).
