With a growing family in a neighborhood and location they love, these homeowners decided on a home expansion above their garage area. The new space added a large bonus room, a bedroom, a full bathroom, two large storage closets, a separate staircase and a very functional mud room.
Palmer's Project Goals and Challenges
- We wanted to create more functional living space for this growing family and marry it with the architecture of the existing home.
Solutions
- The design/build project involved building up and out over the garage, adding 762 square feet of heated living space and enlarging the garage itself by 171 square feet.
- The result was a wonderful addition of functional space, in a great, convenient neighborhood, which blends perfectly with the original home's construction.
- Enlarging the front and side of the garage made parking more convenient while adding needed storage capacity.
