This aging shower was in definite need of replacement, but we found much more extensive damage behind the walls than anyone had anticipated.

- This is an example of a minor issue, which, if left untreated over a long period of time, can result in major repairs.
Solutions
- We found severe structural and termite damage behind the walls when we removed the existing shower. We determined that a long, slow leak in a shower valve was at the heart of extensive damage.
- The structure behind the walls had to be rebuilt, yet as we began to uncover the walls and floor, we found the damage extended to the floor underneath the tub. As a result, the tub had to be torn out and tiles had to be replaced. The owners seized the opportunity to do a more extensive bathroom makeover, with a more functional and stylish tub, updated shower and more attractive tile. The end result was a structural sound and visually appealing bathroom.
