The owner wanted to add a patio roof overhang tying into the existing multiple rooflines. The goals were to make the space more usable throughout the day; make the addition appear as an original part of the house; and have the architecture of the porch overhang match the pool cabana. The owner also wanted a visual barrier for the pool heater. A roll-a-way fence enclosure was designed and built, which would allow the heater to be serviced in the future. Some preventive maintenance and repairs were made to the existing stucco walls at the roofline. Finishing features consisted of a trellised area in the porch roof
to allow sunlight to reach the kitchen, a painted bead board ceiling
and two support columns. Recessed lights were installed in the porch
ceiling to provide lighting for evening use. A ceiling fan installed
provides a nice comfortable breeze. Extra ceiling framing installed
supports a porch swing. The covered, outdoor porch space is a nice extension of the home and a great relaxing place to spend time throughout the day and evening. http://www.palmercustombuilders.com/ |
